The awards will be split into council boroughs, with each council area getting awards, the council borders have been identified as: Winner Restaurant (Birmingham & Solihull) Winner Restaurant (Black Country & Walsall) Winner Restaurant (Staffordshire) Winner Restaurant (Warwickshire& Coventry) Winner Restaurant (Derbyshire) Winner Restaurant (Nottinghamshire) Winner Restaurant (Shropshire) Winner Restaurant (Northamptonshire) Winner Restaurant (Leicestershire) Winner Restaurant (Worcestershire) Newcomer of the year Chef of the year Young Business person of the year Businesswoman of the year Lifetime achievement award
All nominations will begin from 1st July 2009 and will end 7th september 2009.
Nomination fee £25. Cheques payable to 'Midlands Curry Awards', to qualify for entry to the main competition. Part of the judging process involves a mystery shopping exercise. Mystery shoppers will be sent out to each nominated restaurant to prepare a report on the quality of the food, customer service and interior and exterior decoration of the premises together with the hygiene rating. As the mystery shopper will remain anonymous, they will pay for all food consumed. Hence, the nomination fee and in some cases more, will be returned to the participant during this process. The reports will be presented to the judging panel for their consideration. The restaurant must have been trading for at least 2 years. Restaurants which have been established for less than 2 years will automatically be entered in the Newcomer Of The Year category. The judges' decisions will be final.
